The following narrative is taken from the book “Your People Shall Be My People”, by Don Finto.
The Feast of Firstfruits is, significantly, on the third day after Passover. One sheaf of grain was to be waved before the Lord in proclamation of other fruit to come. Paul tells the Corinthians that Jesus, raised from the dead, is “the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep” (1 Cor. 15:20). Jesus’ resurrection is the sheaf being waved before a watching world that speaks of resurrections to come.
