With these words, God established an annual cycle of holidays, or feasts, special days set apart to worship and honor Him.

In the Hebrew language, the word for “My feasts” is moedim (moe-eh-DEEM) . It is a word that is best translated in English as “appointed times” or “appointed feasts.”

Colossians 2:16-17 (NKJV)
16 So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, 17 which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.
